I am about to become a grandfather. My eldest daughter and her husband are expecting a baby which the sonar scans show to be a girl.
A name has been chosen so now we all wait for the big day.
Then it is that time women love the most and hate the most.
A newborn they can give all their attention and on the negative side, she now has to try to lose her excess weight.
This is the nightmare that most women hate, the thought that they are no longer attractive. This is not a psycoligical thing, I think it is some primeaval urge in all women to look attractive.
This now brings us to the multimillion Dollar question how to lose this weight and at the same time not dry up her milk or iduce othe side effects.
I dont have the answer because each women is unique in her ideas and her special requirements..
There is no single one fits all solution.
I have done a bit of research on google and have found the following.

This is what I typed ino the google search box-
"lose those unwanted lbs after childbirth"

Getting Traffic to your Blog
This must be the most stressfull aspect of having any website or Blog.
Writing your daily blogs and not seeing any comments.
I know that google first has to recognise your site before Google ranks it starts sending traffic to your website or Blog.
So how can you hurry the process along?
Read this article at this link
http://ezinearticles.com/?16-Ways-to-Drive-Traffic-to-Your-Blog&id=22928
Some more advice here
http://www.google.com/search?q=How+to+drive+traffic+to+my+blog&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLL_en
And here
http://sethgodin.typepad.com/seths_blog/2006/06/how_to_get_traf.html
After reading the above 3 links content I can see there is no magic button, no magic pill, no secret, no old boys club to join etc.
It all boils down to work on your Blog every day.
Write more than 1 posting per day if you can.
Write something that is usefull for the reader.
Work at it an in time the traffic will come.
One thing I have learned by surfing the web and finding those links above is the fact that Blogs get rated much SOONER than regular websites.
So just that little fact is already an advantage over regular websites and trafiic will increase sooner.
I can also see that I have some more work to do on this website to put into practice what I have readtoday, to make this blog more usefull and efficient.
Have a good day
Regards,
Gunter.

Investigating Money making opportunities
If you want to work from home and to earn an income from the internet you will need to have a website and a product to sell.
The website can be in the form of full blown website or even a Blog.
For a full website it is best to register a domain name so that it belongs to you.
Now you can build a website that is like a virtual store.
In other words it needs a good billboard adverstising the name, be inviting for customers with a notice board of happenings and news and special offers, be easy to enter, be easy to walk up and down the isles to inspect the goods, all the goods will have price labels, the store will have shopping trollies, have a checkout with a cash register, a department for guarantee returns, a department for unwanted returns, a department for money back guarantees, a contact department with the contacts persons name and details.
These are all features we would expect from real stores we visit, so it is only appropriate to incorporate such features into our websites.
All the above "departments" will in fact be seperate pages on the website pages within the website each with its own heading. For ease of navigation between the various pages a list of labeled buttons should be prominently displayed to help the customer go from page to page with ease.
Professional looks and operation will go a long way to success.
Next time we will look at options open to us when establishing a website.

So You want to earn an Extra Income from Home
The Internet lends itself to working from home.
Yea yea yea but how is this done, where do I start , when do I start, how much will I earn, How much is it going to cost me.
These are all questions people who want to earn money from their computer sitting at home want to know.
The first thing to realise is that this web business thing everybody talks about is not for everyone. It takes work dedication and staying power. Even then you may not earn enough to make a difference in your lifestyle.
Just listen for a moment and then realise that you can only get out of a business what you put into the business.
No effort = No reward.
So be prepared to make this business work by doing exactly that working.
So the number one requirement to be successful is to be prepared to make an effort.
Years ago someone said to me :-
"You are so lucky getting a well paid job like that ."
and I answered and this is something I read somewhere :-
"The harder I work the luckier I get."
So before we get into the nuts and bolts, in the next posting, of making an income on the web read this all again and if you feel strongly about anything I have said leave a comment.
Have a wonderfulday

Decisions,Decisions,Decisions
Monday August 10 2009
Life is full of decisions and so it is in aviation. Deciding to build an aircraft and then add a converted auto engine is enough to make any grown man cry.
Lets go back to the beginning, Learning to fly expensive and then once you have your license it is expensive to pay for the hours of pleasure, then family commitments, like new children, house, house extension all erode our disposable income hat can be spend on our hobby.
That is why it makes sense to build your own aircraft. This must be cost effective, because buying a comprehensively prefabricated kit costs money big money, because you pay for all that prefabrication.
Same for aircraft engines in the 100Hp - 150Hp range boy the prices make your eyes water. That makes it easy to choose an auto conversion. After all aircraft engine manufacturers are still building the same basic engines developed in the 40’s and 50,s while auto engine manufacturers have moved with the times and taken the goal posts wit them. Auto engines are modern ,reliable ,light weight powerful and did I say powerful yes powerful. they surely are.
So Why am I sitting here with decisions, decisions, decisions ?
Well the cost factor can be taken are off to keep costs as low as possible by doing as much as possible yourself but this brings its own set of expense factors. Like what you may ask, well like testing the functionality and reliability as well as safety of my converted auto engine. Yea life is no free lunch.
Additionally as aircraft homebuilders we are allowed to design and use materials of our own choosing. This opens up a whole new world of pain and pleasure and experimentation.
I sat down and thought I would build a simple 2 seat aircraft that can be put in the air for a modest sum of money.
Turns out that weight specifically my weight and persons in general are getting taller larger and heavier so choosing a homebuild design from the 40’s or 50,s is going to bring its own set of problems.
For a start materials that were plentiful then may now very well be very scarce ,read as in EXPENSIVE.
I decided a small basic wooden single seater with modest Hp a cheap engine a slow cruising speed would be ideal. WRONG when I sat down and looked at the prices of timber, plywood, and now gasoline it is probably cheaper to rent a plane form the flying club and see more countryside and take along a child or 2 or even the wife and small child or two. (Never be selfish when you are married, boy does that fester with your better half.)
So I seem to have travelled full circle and no stand at a point where I have to make a decision to give up the idea of building an aircraft and just rent or design my own to suit my requirements. Yea I am a sucker for punishment.
So to do this properly I will sit for a while and draw up a list of performance parameters, cost limits, time to complete the project,
What the aircraft must be able to do, the flying characteristics and any thing else I can think of while I am making that list.
Till next time, have a good day.

What type of Engine?
Saturday July 25, 2009
Have not posted anything for a while.
This building an airplane is not as simple and straightforward as it seems.
I have been made aware that an aircraft needs an engine to propel it through the air and logic says well use an aircraft engine sheesh until you see the price and overhaul costs that is.
I have started looking around at what is available in the 65Hp-85 Hp segment and more importantly is there something that is readily available as in automobiles that can be used for aircraft. Yeah car engines are cheap and plentiful.
The next discovery is that aircraft engines are direct drive, the propeller flange is part of the crankshaft so the propeller turns at crankshaft speed. Then because of physics the propeller tips can go supersonic making noise but not much thrust and propeller efficiency drops off rapidly. So to stay away from this situation direct drive propellers are limited to about 3000RPM.
This happens to be where all piston aero engines develop maximum torque and power and are able to easily drive a propeller.
Automobile engines on the other hand make maximum torque at 3000rpm-4500rpm and some even higher and their max power at high rpm in the 600rpm -6500rpm range.
This means an Auto conversion needs a reduction drive to reduce the rpm. This opens a whole new box of snakes and spooks.
Any engine attached to a drive via a gearbox suffers from Torsional vibration and design parameters have to be met so that you don’t destroy parts of the engine or reduction drive or even the propeller.
Read a fine article here
http://www.epi-eng.com/propeller_reduction_technology/torsional_vibration_issues.htm
Direct drive ie prop attached to crankshaft does not suffer from his phenomenon. To such a critical extent.
Turns out that the humble VW beetle engine makes a fine aircraft conversion IF and I stress IF you cool it properly at all times.
I have learned that the engines in our Automobiles are the Long Distance Athletes of the engine world, able to putter along at 25% power at highway speeds in 5th gear.
Aircraft engines on the other hand are more the Sprinters of engine being asked to supply 100% power for take off and then running at 75% power during cruising. So they work really hard and hard work produces more heat so cooling is very important to aircraft engines. The majority of aircraft engines are air cooled.
So to get back to the humble VW beetle engine it is being asked to do things it was never designed to do. This leads to reduced reliability and much shorter times between overhauls of critical components like the cylinder heads and especially the exhaust valves as they take the most heat.
